What is Wine Trove?
We are an online-only independent fine wine merchant based in NE Essex.
What wines do you specialise in?
We specialise in the fine wines and great values of Bordeaux, other European classic regions and the New World, plus rare and hard to find wines from off the beaten track. We also stock a particularly wide range of Vintage Ports and Dessert Wines.
How do I place an order? You can place an order online, or by phone or email from anywhere in the world.
What is the minimum order? There is no minimum order. You may order as few or as many bottles as you like. We believe this policy allows you the greatest freedom of choice to explore and discover some of the world’s great wines.
How much does UK delivery cost? Delivery to a UK mainland address is charged at a flat rate of £10 per order, for orders below £150. Delivery is free for orders of £150 or more. Please contact us for rates to non-mainland UK addresses.
How long does delivery take? We aim to deliver within 5 working days or less to UK mainland (non-mainland UK amd Scottish Highlands will take longer). However, we are grateful for your understanding that occasionally it may take longer. Delivery in 1-2 days is often possible, but please contact us prior to placing your order to check with us first.
Do you deliver to non-mainland UK? Yes. If you place an order online from non-mainland UK you will receive a message to tell you that we will contact you regarding the cost of shipping, and to take your payment details.
Do you deliver overseas? No. But we can ship to various UK based specialist export agencies such as Seabrooks and Davies-Turner, if you have an account with them.
How do I know if my order has been dispatched? You should receive an email informing you of dispatch the day that your order leaves us. This email will also give you an expected delivery day (usually one day after dispatch).
What courier do you use? For UK mainland deliveries we use APC tracked 24 hour service, or Royal Mail tracked 24 hour service.
Is your packaging robust and recyclable? We use either Pulpsafe or Airsac protective packaging surrounded by cardboard outers, both of which have outstanding protective qualities in transit and are fully recyclable.
When do you take payment from my account? Payment is taken immediately at the point of order submission via the website. You should receive immediate email confirmation of your payment. If you experience a delay please check your spam folder before contacting us.
Can I collect my wine? We do not operate a retail shop, but wines can be collected directly from our office address in Langham near Colchester. Please contact us in advance as most of our stock is not kept at our office address and we may require a day or two to bring it to the office.
Are all your wines in stock? All wines we list on our website physically exist and are owned by us. We do not list wines that we do not own, i.e. we are not a wine broker.
Can I amend an order after I have completed it? Yes. If you wish to amend an order after completing it please contact us on 01206 271195, or by email: wine@winetrove.co.uk.
Can I send wine as a gift? Yes. You may also include a special message to the recipient(s) which can be entered in the ‘Order Comments’ box when placing your order.
Can I specify an exact date and time for my wine to be delivered? It is possible to specify an exact delivery date (especially if you would like to postpone delivery), but regrettably not a delivery time for your order. If your order is required quickly please contact us on 01206 271195 to check our earliest possible delivery date. Please note that delivery on Saturdays is available at an extra charge, but we are not able to deliver on Sundays. We are unable to deliver wine between Christmas and the New Year.
I've received a faulty bottle of wine. What should I do? If a bottle is damaged or faulty in any way please contact us and we will replace it (subject to further stock remaining available) or provide a full refund, whichever you prefer. Please refer to our terms and conditions for full details.

Ordering and Pricing
We reserve the right not to accept any order, in which case we will fully refund any payment already made to us.
Although we endeavour to ensure that all pricing information on this website is accurate, occasionally an error may occur and goods may be mis-priced. If we discover a pricing error we will, at our discretion, either: contact you and ask you whether you wish to cancel your order or continue with the order at the correct price; or notify you that we have cancelled your order. We will not be obliged to supply goods at the incorrect price.
